Martin Jones has returned to drawing as the centre of his practice after many years making films and collaboration with other artists and architects on hospital project sas a director of Art in Site.
The plant drawings in charcoal are a return to the life room – a relationship with the individual plant – seeing its unique qualities in the poise, balance, evidence of growth, and of its response to the conditions of its life in bodily form. The marks are a recording of an empathetic reaction, inviting the same response in the viewer.
